As military-level discussions persist between India and China, Indian Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane has labeled China as a bully. Expressing gratitude towards the US for their assistance, he emphasized the importance of mutual support in the face of shared threats.
speaking at the second edition of INDUS-X Summit on Wednesday in New Delhi, Aramane asserted India’s resolve to confront China at various mountain passes and strategic locations, emphasizing preparedness along roads and other key areas. He underscored India’s stance against bullying behavior and expressed hope for continued support from the US if needed. Aramane also acknowledged and appreciated the significant role played by the US in providing information, intelligence, and material support during the 2020 India-China border standoff.
In addition to it, India and China agreed to maintain communication through relevant military and diplomatic channels and uphold peace on the ground in the border areas during the 21st round of talks held between the two sides Corps Commanders at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on February 19. The External Affairs Ministry, in an official statement, revealed that discussions primarily focused on achieving complete disengagement in remaining areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh, with the objective of restoring peace and tranquility along the India-China border. The statement emphasized that both sides exchanged viewpoints in a congenial atmosphere, culminating in a mutual commitment to ongoing communication and peacekeeping efforts.
