In a significant move towards prioritizing education and employee welfare, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration has made a historic decision to promote 44 principals to the role of District Education Officers (DEOs) and elevate 13 principals to Assistant Director positions within the state’s School Education Department. This noteworthy development occurred during the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting, chaired by K.K. Yadav, Secretary of the School Education Department, marking the first such initiative in a decade.
Following directives from School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains to streamline the promotion process, the Department Promotion Committee has taken proactive steps to advance the careers of principals, DEOs, and Assistant Directors. The spokesperson emphasized that the names approved for promotion underwent thorough verification by Minister Harjot Singh Bains. The Cabinet Minister further directed departmental officers to expedite the promotion process for eligible employees across all levels within the department.
