Union Home Minister Amit Shah today launched a scathing attack on the Opposition, accusing them of being silent over the recent recovery of over Rs 200 crore in cash during an Income Tax raid on the residence of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu.
“I am very surprised. After independence, such a large amount of cash has been seized from an MP’s house. Crores of rupees have been recovered, but the entire INDI alliance is silent on this corruption,” Shah said. He said that the government has been campaigning against corruption since 2014 and will continue to do so. “Congress and other political parties are answerable to the people,” he said.
Shah questioned the silence of other political parties such as JDU, RJD, DMK, and SP. “I understand Congress is silent as corruption is in their nature, but why are these parties also silent? Now I understand why there was a campaign against Prime Minister Modi that agencies are being misused. It was run because there was a fear in their mind that all the secrets of their corruption would be revealed,” he said.
