In a ceremony brimming with political dignitaries and jubilant supporters, Bhajan Lal Sharma, a surprise first-time MLA, was sworn in today as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The oath-taking ceremony witnessed not only the rise of Sharma but also the induction of Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa into the state’s echelons of power as Deputy Chief Ministers. The event, a show of political strength and unity, drew the attendance of eminent figures within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), notably Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose presence underscored the significance of this transition. Joining him were key party stalwarts, including Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda, adding a weight of significance to the occasion.
