Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has filed a defamation suit against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The SAD president filed a civil suit in the Muktsar District Court through his advocate, seeking Rs 1 crore damages. The suit alleges that on November 1, 2023, Mann falsely claimed that Sukhbir Badal and his family diverted precious water from Punjab to their farmland in Balasar village, Haryana, through a private canal. It further contends that Mann deliberately made these scurrilous statements for political gain, despite knowing the actual facts. Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed dissatisfaction with Chief Minister Mann’s irresponsible statements about their transport business, asserting that he will not tolerate baseless allegations.
