Ayodhya, January 22

The long-awaited consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol took place on Monday at the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, marking a momentous occasion for India.

Entering the temple premises, the Prime Minister, dressed in a resplendent golden kurta, cream dhoti, and patka, actively participated in the ceremonial proceedings. He performed the “sankalp” during the “pran pratishtha ceremony,” a traditional ritual signifying the commencement of the consecration process. He subsequently proceeded to the sanctum sanctorum for the rituals, where he participated in the sacred rituals alongside other dignitaries like RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As the sacred chants resonated through the temple, the atmosphere outside buzzed with excitement and devotional fervor. Army helicopters showered the temple premises with a fragrant rain of flower petals, adding to the celestial ambiance.

“The extraordinary moment of the consecration of Shri Ram Lala’s life in Ayodhya Dham is going to leave everyone emotional. It is my great pleasure to be a part of this divine program. Hail Siya Ram!” His words echoed the sentiments of millions across India who witnessed this historic event unfold,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi  wrote in his post on X formerly known as twitter.

The grand ceremony marked the culmination of a long and arduous journey. Following the consecration, Prime Minister Modi addressed the massive gathering of devotees, sharing his vision for a united and prosperous India inspired by the ideals of Lord Ram. He also paid his respects to the workers who tirelessly contributed to the construction of the magnificent temple.

The newly built Ram Mandir is a masterpiece of Indian architecture, standing tall as a beacon of faith and cultural heritage. Built in the traditional Nagara style, the temple boasts awe-inspiring dimensions, stretching 380 feet in length and 250 feet in width, while soaring to a majestic height of 161 feet. Supported by a total of 392 intricately carved pillars and adorned with 44 grand doors, the temple’s architectural design is a testament to its grandeur and spiritual significance.

The pillars and walls of the temple serve as canvases for exquisitely crafted sculptures depicting Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. The main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla, a mesmerizing embodiment of the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram.

Accessed through the eastern side, the main entrance is reached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar, a gateway adorned with the figure of a lion. The temple comprises five Mandaps (halls): Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. Each of these halls holds profound spiritual significance and contributes to the temple’s unique architectural design.
