Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the initiative’s focus on enhancing the well-being of the trading community, positioning it as a crucial step toward revitalizing the state’s economic prosperity. Mann underscored the significance of industry and trade as the bedrock of economic growth, stressing the imperative of fostering their development.
Highlighting the symbiotic relationship between revenue generation, employment, and overall progress, Mann recounted efforts to attract investment, including visits to major cities like Mumbai and Chennai to court industrialists. He emphasized a departure from past practices of seeking personal gain from projects, advocating instead for a singular dedication to state advancement.
Mann lauded recent investment commitments totaling Rs 70,000 crore from leading entities like Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles, affirming the government’s obligation to safeguard local industry interests and foster expansion opportunities.
Citing improved law and order as a magnet for industrial growth, Mann contrasted the present conducive environment with past instances of leaders seeking personal stakes in ventures. He underscored a shift toward agreements prioritizing the state’s progress over individual gain, vowing to champion the rights and welfare of all Punjabis.
Critiquing previous administrations for prioritizing personal enrichment at the expense of public welfare, Mann affirmed his commitment to governance devoid of vested interests. The Chief Secretary, Anurag Verma, announced the launch of an email ID ([email protected]) and helpline (8194891948) for traders to voice their concerns, underscoring the government’s responsiveness to citizen needs.
