RAJKOT/ DWARKA, FEBRUARY 25

Reflecting on the previous inaugurations of esteemed educational institutions such as IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIIT Kurnool, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Visakhapatnam, and IIS Kanpur during a program in Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that today signifies the inauguration of AIIMS Rajkot, AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS Mangalagiri, AIIMS Bathinda, and AIIMS Kalyani. He emphasized the rapid pace of development in India, particularly evident in the establishment of these five AIIMS institutions.

Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a multitude of development projects worth over Rs 48,100 crores in Rajkot of Gujarat. These projects span crucial sectors such as health, transportation, energy, and tourism, signifying a significant stride towards comprehensive growth.

In his address to the gathering, Prime Minister Modi reminisced about a time when developmental initiatives were primarily concentrated in New Delhi. He emphasized the paradigm shift brought about by his government, extending the reach of governance to every corner of the nation. Highlighting the ceremony’s decentralized nature, he underscored the symbolism of dedicating and laying foundation stones simultaneously at various locations across the country, marking a new tradition.

Recalling his longstanding connection with Rajkot, where he was elected MLA 22 years ago, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the enduring support of the people. He acknowledged the generational shift while noting the unwavering affection towards him.

Prime Minister today also dedicated several key infrastructure projects to the nation in Dwarka of Gujarat, emphasizing the significant strides in connectivity and development. Among these projects were the Sudarshan Setu linking Okha mainland with Beyt Dwarka, a pipeline project at Vadinar, and various rail electrification endeavors.

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister paid homage to Dwarka, the sacred land of Lord Krishna, expressing reverence for its religious significance. He reminisced about his morning prayers at the temple and highlighted the spiritual importance of Dwarka in the nation’s religious fabric, citing the establishment of one of the four ‘peeths’ by Adi Shankaracharya and the presence of revered sites like Nageshwar Jyotirling and Rukmani Devi Mandir.

Reflecting on his profound experience of offering prayers at the submerged city of Dwarka, Prime Minister Modi underscored its archaeological and spiritual significance, describing it as a fulfillment of a long-held desire. He expressed awe at the grandeur and divinity of the submerged city, noting its symbolic representation of India’s potential in the 21st century and reaffirming his commitment to national development.

Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the inauguration of Sudarshan Setu earlier in the day, a project whose foundation stone he laid six years ago. He praised the bridge as an engineering marvel, emphasizing its role in enhancing connectivity for pilgrims visiting Dwarkadheesh and the surrounding region. With confidence in the projects initiated during his tenure, he assured the public, stating, “This is Modi’s guarantee.”

Prime Minister Modi congratulated citizens on the inauguration of these projects, urging the engineering fraternity to study Sudarshan Setu’s technical intricacies. His address encapsulated the government’s commitment to fostering development and connectivity while honoring India’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
