Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to make Punjab a debt-free state, progressive and prosperous state. Addressing the gathering during Sarkar Vyapaar Milni here , the Chief Minister said that the state has inherited a debt due to the misdeeds of the previous governments. However, he said that his government would make all-out efforts to bail out the state from these crises for which concerted efforts are being made. Mann said the budget of two years reflects good things unfolding in state in terms of enhanced revenue collection adding that this tempo will continue in the coming days too.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing these type of functions for the first time. He said that earlier only political mudslinging was done in events but now a celebration of happiness is being made in such functions. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for the first time, traders have become an integral part of decision-making to put the state in a path of high trajectory.
The Chief Minister said that today new schools and hospitals are being coming up, free power is given to 90 percent of households, and jobs have been given to more than 43000 jobs and others due to the good intentions of the government. He said that this was lacking during the earlier regimes due to which the state has lagged behind in the progress. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government is exposing the ugly face of the previous regimes.
The Chief Minister said that these leaders are opportunists who switch sides just because of their vested interests. He said that these leaders have a single agenda of setting their families in the arena of public life but these people have been time and again rejected by people. Mann said that the greed of power of these leaders is never satiated and they vie for it on pretext or other.
The Chief Minister said that these leaders neither have vision nor intention to serve the people adding that their sole motive is to plunder the wealth of the state. He said that industry wants infrastructure and we want jobs for youth and taxes for the welfare of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this circle is the basis of the industrial policy of the state government due to which they are holding these meetings with traders and industrialists.
The Chief Minister said that Punjabis are successful across the globe but can’t rise in the state due to the regressive policies of these leaders. He said that these leaders have ruined the state for their vested interests and have mercilessly looted the wealth of Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to this reason, only the residents of the state have trounced these leaders.
