NEW DELHI, MARCH 11

In line with its promise, the BJP-led Centre government officially announced the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024, on Monday. Home Minister Amit Shah took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news, stating that the Modi government has now put the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024, into effect. These rules aim to provide citizenship to minorities facing persecution on religious grounds in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. “With this notification, PM Shri @narendramodi Ji has fulfilled another commitment and upheld the promise of our Constitution’s makers to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians residing in those countries,” he added.
