Ahead of Republic Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a circular to states, and Union territories, urging responsible handling of paper flags used during national, cultural, and sports events. Emphasizing the dignity of the flag, the circular encourages proper disposal in private, discouraging littering or discarding on the ground after events.
