Chandigarh, February 11
The Haryana government suspended mobile internet services and bulk SMS in seven districts on Sunday, citing potential peace disruptions due to a planned farmers’ march towards Delhi. This action comes ahead of a crucial meeting between farmers’ representatives and Union ministers on Monday.

The suspension covers Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa districts from February 11 to 13, according to government orders. Additionally, Haryana sealed its border with Punjab at Shambhu near Ambala to impede the farmers’ proposed “Delhi Chalo” march scheduled for February 13, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee confirmed a meeting with Union ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal, and Nityanand Rai on February 12 at 5 pm in Chandigarh to discuss farmers’ demands. This meeting follows the first round of talks held on February 8.
News reports indicate heightened security measures at borders in Jind and Fatehabad districts to prevent the march. The farmers are protesting against the central government’s agricultural laws, demanding their repeal and guarantees for better minimum support prices for their crops.
