New Delhi, January 13
India on Saturday slammed the visit of the British High Commissioner to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as “highly objectionable” and an infringement of its sovereignty.
“The Indian government has taken serious note of the British High Commissioner in Islamabad’s visit to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on January 10,” the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement. “This visit constitutes a blatant violation of India’s territorial integrity and cannot be accepted,” the Ministry said.
The statement further said that Foreign Secretary had lodged a strong protest with the British High Commissioner in India over the visit and India maintains its firm position that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of its territory.”
