Indian civilian crew arrives in Maldives to operate medical helicopters

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 26

The Maldives Ministry of Defense issued a press statement confirming the arrival of the first contingent of Indian civilians tasked with managing the helicopters provided by India for medical purposes.

“In a statement released today, the Maldives Ministry announced the arrival of the civilian crew who will take over the operation of the helicopters stationed in Seenu Gan (Addu City) from the Indian troops,” the statement read. The civilian crew arrived in the Maldives this evening and is en route to Addu City. One of the helicopters is stationed at GAN Airport.

Tonight, Indian military personnel stationed at GAN Airport will commence the handover procedure to the newly arrived Indian civilian crew.
