Punjab’s Water Resources Minister, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, expressed concern regarding recent police actions against farmers at Haryana’s borders. He called for respectful treatment of farmers and stressed their vital role in national food security. Jouramajra emphasized the importance of dialogue and reaching a solution through peaceful means. He acknowledged the farmers’ grievances and urged the central government to prioritize their well-being. He highlighted that healthy dialogue would benefit not only farmers but also ensure the nation’s continued food security and rural prosperity.
Releasing photos of injured farmers to the media, the Cabinet Minister strongly condemned the use of teargas and pellet guns against farmers, barricading roads and fortifying the national capital.
