JALANDHAR, MARCH 2
In a bid to advance the state’s development agenda, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday emphasized the importance of securing all 13 seats for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. Kejriwal underscored the necessity of this move to counteract what he described as the central government’s neglectful treatment of the state. Asserting that Punjabis would not forgive such injustice, the Delhi Chief Minister stressed the urgency of bolstering overall state development and ensuring prosperity for its citizens. Kejriwal indicated that candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would be announced imminently.
Kejriwal voiced a call for constructive governance rather than political mudslinging, citing the significant strides made in state development over the past two years. Punjab Chief Minister echoed Kejriwal’s sentiments, advocating for the Union government’s defeat in the upcoming polls as retribution.
Responding to inquiries about a potential alliance between the Akali Dal and BJP, Mann dismissed the notion, asserting the long-standing association between the two parties. He challenged the Akalis to justify aligning with the BJP, highlighting alleged injustices against farmers. Mann added that unresolved farmer issues persist alongside broader state concerns.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal and Mann jointly inaugurated 165 additional Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab, marking a significant step in the state’s healthcare provision. With the total number of operational clinics reaching 829, both leaders emphasized their commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to the public. Mann highlighted the clinics’ state-of-the-art infrastructure and comprehensive diagnostic facilities, which have already benefitted over 1 crore patients across the state. He noted that the clinics offer 41 types of diagnostic tests free of charge, contributing to a robust disease database and effective disease management strategies. Mann concluded by highlighting the clinics’ transformative impact on healthcare, with over 95 percent of daily visitors reporting successful recoveries.
