Khatkar Kalan School renamed after Bhagat Singh: Bains

The Punjab government has decided to name 31 government schools of the state after the freedom fighters and martyred soldiers. Divulging details, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Friday said that the state government had decided to rename the state government schools, hence 31 more government schools have been renamed in third phase during the current year.

The Education Minister said that among the government schools which have been renamed, the Government High School of Khatkar Kalan of  Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar has been renamed as Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Government High School.

Bains said that the complying with the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government schools are being renamed after the freedom fighters and martyred soldiers so that our future generations can also be aware of the sacrifices of these personalities.
