In a strong rebuke, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann criticized state BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Friday, accusing him of propagating falsehoods regarding the rejection of the state’s tableau by the BJP-led Union government. Mann asserted that the Modi government’s decision to reject the tableau was due to an alleged anti-Punjab sentiment, contrasting Jakhar’s support for the Union government’s move as misguided and built on false premises.
The Chief Minister asserted that Jakhar misled the public by claiming that the state government’s tableaus featured his images, categorically refuting this as a baseless assertion. With the Ministry of Defence affirming the absence of pictures in the tableau, Mann highlighted that Jakhar’s alleged falsehoods now stand exposed.
Mann underscored that the state government’s tableaus aimed to showcase Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, emphasizing its traditions of sacrifice and martyrdom, intending to honor these legacies during the Republic Day Parade.
