Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday appealed for public support to “bring the agenda of welfare and development to the national center stage.” Speaking at the inauguration of the Sri Guru Amar Dass Thermal Plant, Mann lauded Kejriwal for “bringing a paradigm shift in politics by rejecting divisive politics and introducing value-based politics.” He further highlighted the large crowd as a sign of public trust in the AAP government’s “pro-people and development-oriented policies.”
Mann contrasted the AAP’s approach with that of previous governments, accusing them of “looting the state” and being ousted from power for their failures. He claimed people’s distrust of these leaders fueled their jealousy towards him.
Kejriwal echoed Mann’s sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the state government purchasing a private power plant, claiming it was acquired at a significantly lower price. He touted this as a benefit for both households, now receiving free power, and other sectors set to receive subsidized electricity.
Both leaders highlighted the recent launch of the “Ghar Ghar Muft Ration” scheme in Punjab, aiming to eliminate the “ration mafia” and ensure food security for beneficiaries. Kejriwal criticized the Public Distribution System (PDS) for its alleged failure to reach intended recipients in the past 75 years.
