NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 21
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a productive meeting with visiting Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday, during which they discussed various issues, including the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor and the Indo-Pacific Ocean. Both leaders also exchanged concerns regarding the challenge of terrorism.
Following their meeting, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra addressed the press conference, stating that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnerships in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indo-Pacific region. Greece also conveyed its decision to join India-led initiatives in the Indo-Pacific Ocean.
The leaders exchanged views on enhancing cooperation within the framework of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor. They also condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
On climate change action, the Greek Prime Minister emphasized the importance of India’s leadership in international solar reliance. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s efforts in disaster resilience and discussed the potential for partnership with Greece within the Coalition for Disaster Resilience Infrastructure (CDRI).
