Guna(Madhya Pradesh), November 8
Taking a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s objectionable remarks on how educated women can help in birth control made on the floor of the assembly yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that a big leader of the I.N.D.I. alliance, ‘Ghamandiya Gathbandhan’ used indecent language for women inside Assembly yesterday. They are not ashamed. No leader of the I.N.D.I. alliance said a single word against it. People who think like this about women, can they do anything good for you?”.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar publicly retracted his controversial remarks, expressing remorse and issuing a formal apology for his words. Speaking in the Bihar Assembly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said, “I take my words back. I am ashamed and apologise for my remarks.”
Addressing a rally in Guna of Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister also focused on the political landscape in Madhya Pradesh. He recalled the years of Congress rule in the state and referred to it as the ‘laapata model,’ highlighting the lack of progress in areas such as water supply, development, electricity, employment, and housing during their governance. He emphasized that the welfare of the youth and farmers had been neglected under Congress rule.
Speaking about the government’s initiatives to support middle-class families across the nation, PM Modi mentioned the ‘Bharat Atta’ campaign, aimed at providing affordable flour. He stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring maximum savings for the poor and middle class, citing examples like Janaushadhi Kendras reducing healthcare costs and LED bulbs lowering electricity bills for the middle class.
In discussing the Central government’s efforts to promote local products, Modi mentioned that the quality of coriander from Guna has always been exceptional, but Congress has not made significant efforts to promote it.
“The BJP initiated a program like “One District, One Product” for this region. As a result, Guna’s renowned spices are now accessible in every part of the country. Additionally, Chanderi handloom products from Ashoknagar are now sought after in foreign markets as well. The BJP government has also supported weavers with identity cards and financial assistance.” Modi further said.
