Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the groundwork for a series of development projects worth approximately Rs 7300 crore in Jhabua of Madhya Pradesh today. These projects, geared towards benefiting the significant tribal population of the region, aim to enhance water supply, provision of drinking water, and bolster infrastructure in sectors including roads, railways, power, and education.

During the event, the Prime Minister disbursed monthly installments of Aahar Anudan to around 2 lakh women beneficiaries from marginalized tribal communities, distributed 1.75 lakh adhikar abhilekh (record of rights) under the SVAMITVA Scheme, and allocated Rs 55.9 crore for 559 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana.

Highlighting the vision of Antyodaya as a guiding principle, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of ensuring equitable development for tribal communities. He inaugurated initiatives aimed at providing modern education facilities, such as the ‘CM Rise School’ and ‘Tantya Mama Bhil University’, catering to the youth in tribal-dominated districts.

Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated projects to improve water supply, including the Talavada Project and urban water supply schemes under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0. He also launched the ‘Nal Jal Yojna’ to provide tap water to households in 50 Gram Panchayats of Jhabua.

Railway projects, such as the redevelopment of Ratlam and Meghnagar railway stations, and road development projects, including the four-laning of highways and NH sections, were also inaugurated to enhance connectivity and boost economic growth in the region.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister inaugurated waste dumpsite remediation and electric substation projects, among others, aimed at improving overall infrastructure and living standards.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C. Patel, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, among other dignitaries.
