The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finalised its seat-sharing arrangement for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar on Monday. According to the agreement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will field candidates in 17 constituencies, the Janata Dal (United) in 16, and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in five, announced Vinod Tawde, overseeing the BJP’s electoral efforts in Bihar, at the BJP headquarters here.
Additionally, two other NDA constituents, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha led by Upendra Kushwaha, will contest one seat each.
During a press briefing, Tawde affirmed the unified stance of NDA constituents, emphasizing their collective endeavor despite contesting under individual party symbols. The seat-sharing arrangement outlines the constituencies allocated to each party, with the BJP securing key regions including West Champaran, East Champaran, and Patna Sahib among others. Conversely, the JD(U) will field candidates in Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, and Jehanabad, among several others. Chirag Paswan’s LJP will concentrate on its traditional strongholds such as Hajipur and Vaishali. Notably, Chirag Paswan is expected to contest from Hajipur, a constituency also coveted by his uncle and Union Minister Pashupati Paras. Furthermore, the HAM will vie for the Gaya seat, while the RLP will campaign in Karakat.
