Speaking to a gathering of Indian Statistical Service probationers, Dhankar highlighted the need for upholding integrity and ethical standards in the face of pressure. “To display integrity, one must adhere to high ethical standards. There will be pressures and counter-pressures,” he emphasized.
Acknowledging the challenges he confronts despite his positions, Dhankar reflected, “Even in my role as Vice President and Chairperson of Rajya Sabha, I face unwarranted criticism. However, this doesn’t alter my mindset or divert me from my path. We must persist on the path of righteousness.”
Even in my constitutional position as Chairman, Rajya Sabha & Vice-President, people don't spare me!
Should that change my mindset? Should that result in deviation of my path? No!

The Vice President also urged openness to alternative perspectives while cautioning against intentional distractions from the service path. “While considering alternative viewpoints is important, those attempting to distract or derail us from our service must be met with strength,” Dhankar asserted.
He cautioned against chronic critics who hinder national progress and highlighted the danger posed by knowledgeable individuals who withhold truth for political gain. Dhankar encouraged the young minds present, stressing the importance of serving the nation and ensuring accountability for those who act against its interests.
“We must have faith in our nation. Our allegiance lies foremost with Bharat, and our culture is rooted in Bharatiyata. Embracing our achievements is vital. Despite attempts to undermine us, we must not be perturbed,” he concluded, emphasizing national pride amidst global recognition.
