NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 14
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu Mandir, the first Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Wednesday. He lauded the UAE for its contribution, calling it a “golden chapter in human history.” Modi announced that the UAE had pledged to allocate land for the construction of a hospital dedicated to Indian laborers within the country, underscoring the close bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between India and the UAE.

Temple a Symbol of Unity
During the dedication ceremony, Modi expressed hope that the temple would serve as a “symbol of world unity” and foster interfaith understanding. He specifically thanked UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support in the temple’s construction, stating that the President had “won the hearts of 140 crore Indians.”

Modi also reiterated India’s commitment to the “One Earth, One Health” mission, highlighting the nation’s cultural values that inspire it to contribute to global well-being.
