SALEM(TAMIL NADU), MARCH 10
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Opposition on Tuesday, labeling the DMK and Congress as two sides of the same corrupt coin, synonymous with big corruption and one-family rule. Criticizing their track record, Modi asserted that while Congress remained dormant, the nation propelled forward to 5G technology. He juxtaposed this with DMK’s version of 5G in Tamil Nadu, symbolizing the fifth generation of the same ruling family, infamous for the 2G scam that tarnished India and Tamil Nadu’s global image. Modi, exuding confidence, proclaimed Tamil Nadu’s decision for change, chanting “Ab Ki Baar…..400 Paar” for both a developed India and Tamil Nadu.
Criticising the Opposition over the ‘Shakti’ remark, Modi accused the Opposition of intending to undermine the Hindu religion, asserting that Shakti represents women’s power in Hinduism. He condemned the INDI Alliance of Congress and DMK for their stance, alleging selective targeting of Hinduism while refraining from disparaging other religions. Modi criticized their opposition to symbols like the sacred Sengol in Parliament, indicating a bias that questions their agenda and intentions.
Amidst his address, Modi shared positive news, announcing Tamil Nadu’s NDA’s momentum with the PMK joining the alliance. He congratulated Dr. Anbumani Ramados, expressing optimism about his contributions to Tamil Nadu’s development. Reflecting on his past, Modi nostalgically recalled his 1988 trip to Kailash Mansarovar, reminiscing about Ratnavel, a Salem native whose warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression, as the PM mourned his passing while visiting Salem.
PM Modi shared the NDA’s development plans, highlighting the construction of two defense corridors nationwide, with one specifically in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, he emphasized the BJP government’s initiative to establish seven mega textile parks across India, including one set to be operational in Tamil Nadu.
Concluding his address, PM Modi expressed his forward-looking vision for Tamil Nadu, underscoring the significance of the next five years in the state’s development trajectory and the ongoing fight against corruption.
