Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya on December 30 to inaugurate a redeveloped railway station and a newly built airport, showcasing India’s ongoing infrastructure push in the city revered as the birthplace of Lord Ram.
Modi’s visit, coinciding with the festive season, underscores the government’s focus on developing Ayodhya as a major pilgrimage and tourism destination. The projects, along with several other development initiatives to be launched, carry a combined price tag of over Rs 15,700 crore.
Key Highlights:
- Ayodhya Airport: Phase 1 of the terminal building, costing over Rs 1,450 crore, boasts a facade resembling the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir temple and interiors adorned with Ram-themed art. Passenger capacity is estimated at 1 million annually.
- Ayodhya Dham Railway Station: Formerly known as Ayodhya Junction, the revamped station features modern amenities, accessibility features, and a focus on sustainability.
- Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat Trains: Modi will flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains and six Vande Bharat Express trains, signifying an upgrade in passenger services.
- Improved Civic Infrastructure: Four newly redeveloped roads, a medical college, and several beautification projects aim to enhance connectivity and aesthetics.
- Foundation Stone Laying: Modi will lay the foundation for additional projects, including historical gate conservation, ghat refurbishment, a greenfield township, and an NH-28 highway section.
- Other Projects across Uttar Pradesh: The Prime Minister will inaugurate several infrastructure and sanitation projects across the state.
