On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu praised the recent consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya, underscoring its historical and cultural importance. She highlighted the event’s adherence to due judicial processes, emphasizing the people’s trust in the judiciary. Looking back over the past year, President Murmu highlighted India’s achievements, including hosting the G20 Summit, passing the Women’s Reservation Bill, and notable accomplishments in space exploration. She expressed confidence in India’s economic resilience, emphasizing inclusive development.

President Murmu also emphasized the need to support youth in harnessing their potential. She expressed gratitude to teachers, farmers, laborers, and the Armed Forces, extending Republic Day greetings to officials, the diaspora, and citizens. President Murmu called for dedication to serving the nation and fellow citizens.

In her address to nation, the President expressed heartfelt greetings to the nation, reflecting on the remarkable journey despite challenges. The occasion holds special significance, reminiscent of the celebrations during the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of Independence.

President Murmu highlighted the Constitution’s pivotal role as the nation gears up to celebrate its commencement on Republic Day. Emphasizing India’s deep-rooted democratic tradition, she termed the country the “mother of democracy,” predating Western concepts.

Recalling the post-independence era, President Murmu acknowledged the tireless efforts of leaders and officials who dedicated themselves to framing the Constitution. She paid homage to their contributions, recognizing the Constitution as the bedrock of the nation.

As India enters the Amrit Kaal, the lead-up to its centenary of Independence, President Murmu urged citizens to contribute to the nation’s growth. She appealed to uphold Fundamental Duties, envisioning a developed Bharat when it completes 100 years of independence.

The President invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s wisdom, stressing the significance of considering duties alongside rights. Republic Day, she asserted, is a time to reflect on foundational values like democracy, diversity, and justice, echoing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s principles for social justice.

Addressing welfare initiatives, President Murmu commended the government’s commitment to providing free food grains to over 81 crore people for five years, marking a historic welfare initiative.

President Murmu lauded India’s sports achievements, emphasizing the role of sportspersons in inspiring confidence and boosting self-esteem. She anticipated improved performances in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Reflecting on global conflicts, President Murmu invoked Lord Buddha’s teachings on non-violence, urging resolution through reason rather than fears and prejudices. She expressed India’s commitment to promoting renewable energy and addressing climate change.
