With an aim to ensure that all the government-related printing and stationery requirements are fulfilled by the in-house printing press, Punjab Government is all set to fill as many as 269 posts in the Printing and Stationery department, besides upgrading the capacity of its Press, said Minister of Printing and Stationery, Aman Arora

The state Cabinet has already approved the restructuring of the department, Aman Arora said while directing officials concerned to finalise the services rules at the earliest to initiate the process of promotions and new recruitment in the department.  The Cabinet Minister was reviewing the functioning of the Printing and Stationery department with Principal Secretary VK Meena, Controller Harpreet Sudhan and other department officials. He also asked the department officials to ensure that all printing stationery works of the state government should be executed by the department itself.

To ramp up the Government printing facility to keep pace with current requirements, Aman Arora directed the department officials to speed up the process of procuring new machinery and the latest equipment to ensure state-of-the-art facilities in Punjab Government Press, SAS Nagar (Mohali). It would also help to ensure the secrecy of documents as and when required.
