The Punjab Cabinet on Saturday gave nod to fill 106 posts of clerk in the department of general administration, Punjab Civil Secretariat. A decision to this effect was taken by the Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in a meeting held here.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office said that the Council of Ministers has approved the proposal to fill 106 posts of clerk. With the completion of the recruitment on these posts, the work of Punjab Civil Secretariat can be carried out in a smooth and effective manner to facilitate the people. Likewise, this will also provide employment opportunities for the youth to become active partners in the social and economic growth of the state.
APPROVES TO EVOLVE MECHANISM FOR CONSTRUCTING UPCOMING MEDICAL COLLEGES IN EXPEDITE MANNER
The Cabinet also gave approval to evolve a viable mechanism for constructing upcoming medical colleges at SAS Nagar (Mohali), Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Malerkotla and Sangrur in expedite manner.
NOD TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LEGAL AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS (GROUP ‘B) SERVICE RULES, 2023
The Cabinet also gave its consent to the framing of “The Department of Legal and Legislative Affairs (Group ‘B) Service Rules, 2023”. It will facilitate the recruitment process in the department besides helping in smooth day-to-day functioning of the Department of Legal and Legislative Affairs, Punjab.
GREEN SIGNAL TO EXTEND SERVICES OF 481 VETERINARY PHARMACISTS FOR ONE YEAR
In order to provide better health facilities to livestock owners, the Cabinet also gave nod to extend the services of 481 Veterinary Pharmacists working in 582 Veterinary hospitals across the state as service providers for one year from (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024).
GIVES APPROVAL FOR SENDING/ REJECTING THE CASES OF PREMATURE RELEASE OF CONVICTS
The Cabinet also gave its consent for sending the case of five prisoners for seeking the premature release of life convicts confined in the jails of the state and four others for rejecting such cases.
REVIEWS RESTRUCTURING OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE PRINTING AND STATIONERY DEPARTMENT
The Cabinet also reviewed the decision to restructure the Department of the Printing and Stationery department taken a few years back. As per this decision the financial burden on the state exchequer will now be reduced by abolishing surplus posts and by reviving the necessary posts. This will act as a catalyst for ensuring that the functioning of the Department is carried out smoothly and effectively.
NOD TO UPGRADE THE POST OF ASSISTANT CONTROLLER (FINANCE AND AUDIT) TO DEPUTY CONTROLLER (FINANCE AND AUDIT) IN CEO, PUNJAB
In order to further streamline the functioning of the Chief Election Officer, Punjab, the Cabinet also gave green signal to upgrade the post of Assistant Controller (Finance and Audit) to Deputy Controller (Finance and Audit). This will help in meeting the new challenges besides ensuring smooth and better functioning of the Chief Electoral Office.
