Special camps held across Punjab on Saturday saw a remarkable turnout, addressing a backlog of pending mutation cases. Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa said that an impressive resolution of more than 31,538 cases, marking a single-day record for the state in swiftly resolving such matters. Personally overseeing the camps in Hoshiarpur, Phagwara, Phillaur, Ludhiana West, Ludhiana East, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Tehsils, Minister Jimpa ensured effective functioning and promptly tackled additional grievances brought by attendees.
Emphasizing the people-centric approach of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration, Minister Jimpa encouraged citizens to leverage dedicated helpline numbers for any office-related issues. He urged immediate reporting of instances involving officials seeking bribes, promising stringent action to maintain transparent governance.
The success of these camps was evident across districts, with Ludhiana recording the highest number of resolved cases at 6,265, followed by Gurdaspur with 2,806. Other districts also showed significant progress in resolving mutation cases: Patiala (1,818), Hoshiarpur (2,686), Kapurthala (883), Fathegarh Sahib (667), Taran Tarn (693), Bathinda (1,043), Faridkot (525), Ferozpur (971), Moga (838), Jalandhar (1,718), Mansa (646), Amritsar (1,324), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (537), Pathankot (814), Sri Mukatsar Sahib (768), Shahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (1,943), Barnala (567), Roopnagar (1,326), Malerkotla (713), Sangrur (1,093), and Fazilka (894). The camps exemplified the government’s commitment to expeditiously address citizens’ concerns and streamline administrative processes.
