Banwarilal Purohit resigned as the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh on Saturday, citing “personal reasons and certain other commitments.” His resignation follows a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday. In his resignation letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, he wrote, “Please accept my resignation and oblige.” He had been holding the office since August 2021.
