SHIMLA, MARCH 6
In yet another political development, Congress MLA Rajinder Rana on Wednesday stepped down from his position as the working president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC). He sent his resignation letter to the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Rana, known for his outspoken criticism of the incumbent Congress government in the state, was among the six Congress MLAs suspended for their participation in cross-voting during the recent Rajya Sabha elections. These six dissenting MLAs have openly rebelled against the state government, a move that contributed to the BJP’s victory in the sole Rajya Sabha seat.
