Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme: Sandhwan flags off pilgrimage bus

Making a significant stride in promoting accessibility and enabling spiritual journeys for Punjab’s residents under the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme, Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Saturday flagged off the passenger bus. This initiative, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to facilitate free travel for Punjab residents to various pilgrimage destinations nationwide.
Marking the departure of pilgrims from Kotakpura to Sri Salasar Dham and Sri Khatu Shyam, Sandhwan highlighted the scheme’s pivotal role in granting Punjab’s people access to diverse pilgrimage sites across the country. He underscored the Punjab Government’s commitment to covering the expenses of passengers embarking on journeys through this scheme.
The initiative includes visits to revered sites such as Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded), Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Bihar), Varanasi Temple, Ayodhya, Vrindavan Dham (Uttar Pradesh), and Ajmer Sharif (Rajasthan). Additionally, pilgrimages to Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Salasar Dham, Sri Khatu Shyam, Mata Chintapurni, Mata Vaishno Devi, and Mata Jawala Ji are incorporated. Sandhwan revealed the arrangement of daily buses and trains from various Punjab districts to facilitate travel to these pilgrimage sites.
Extending his best wishes to the passengers, Sandhwan delineated the travel arrangements, specifying that long-distance journeys to religious destinations will be facilitated by trains, while shorter distances will be covered by buses.
The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Faridkot, Vineet Kumar, along with esteemed dignitaries and administrative officials from the city.
