New Delhi, December 15

The ‘mastermind’ in the 13 December  Parliament security breach, Lalit Jha, has been sent to seven-day police custody of the Delhi Police Special Cell by the Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Friday.  Special Judge Hardeep Kaur remanded Jha in Delhi police’s custody after the Public Prosecutor said he was the mastermind of the incident and was required to be questioned to unearth the entire conspiracy.

Jha was arrested late on Thursday night. Subsequently, he was handed over to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, as per reports.

In addition to it, the Delhi Patiala House Court on Thursday ordered a seven-day police custody for the four accused—Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Neelam Verma, and Amol Shinde—apprehended for breaching security in the Lok Sabha premises. Charged under sections of the UAPA, the police produced the four accused before the court with a plea for a 15-day custody, emphasising the need for a comprehensive investigation into the broader conspiracy surrounding their actions.
Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava, during the hearing, highlighted a concerning detail that the accused were found in possession of a pamphlet portraying the Prime Minister as a missing person. “The accused have shown reward to be paid by the Swiss bank,” he said.
