Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday criticized the opposition for their absence during a crucial debate on three criminal law bills in Parliament. During the inauguration of several development projects, Shah expressed disappointment, stating, “I wanted the opposition to give their views on them,” referring to the bills aimed at reforming the criminal justice system.
“It was unfortunate that the opposition decided to boycott the discussion on the bills by making excuses,” Shah lamented. He further criticized the opposition for their actions, noting, “When the debate was taking place, opposition members were mimicking the Vice President,” referring to an incident involving Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee mimicking Vice President during a protest against the suspension of MPs.
Shah condemned the act, emphasizing, “Nothing can be more condemnable than this.” Additionally, he took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, mentioning, “A prominent leader of a party like the Congress was making a video of it and making fun of it.”
