Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, on Thursday said that the Punjab Police successfully averted target killings with the arrest of two members of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module.
Providing further insight, the DGP revealed that the terror module was operated by Harpreet Singh, known as Happy Passian, based in the USA, who is closely associated with Harwinder Singh, alias Rinda, a terrorist based in Pakistan. Another accomplice, identified as Shamsher Singh, also known as Shera, is currently located in Armenia. “Preliminary investigations suggest that Happy Passian collaborated with Rinda and Shamsher to radicalize youth, urging them to engage in anti-national activities within the state,” he added.
Additionally, Punjab Police seized two pistols, four magazines, and 30 live cartridges. A case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar. The DGP reiterated Punjab Police’s commitment to dismantling organized crime in the state.
