Bhopal, December 13

Mohan Yadav on Wednesday took oath as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel also administered the oath of office and secrecy to deputy chief ministers Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda.

Yadav’s political career traces back to his initial election as an MLA from the Ujjain Dakshin constituency in 2013, followed by a successful re-election in 2018, 2023. Former Education Minister Yadav  is considered a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, and his appointment is seen as a move to consolidate the party’s hold in the state ahead of the 2024 general elections.
